The Shandong (Jinan) Lehua City project agreement is signed by officials from Lehua Hengye group, Jinan Culture and Tourism Development Group, and the Jiyang district government on Dec 30. 

A project focusing on promoting cultural tourism alongside the Yellow River was launched in Jiyang district, Jinan on Dec 30.

The project is jointly supported by Lehua Hengye group, Jinan Culture and Tourism Development Group and the Jiyang district government.

The Shandong (Jinan) Lehua City project has a planned investment of 20.5 billion yuan ($3.17 billion). It will be developed into a complex integrating cultural tourism, as well as leisure, vacation, entertainment, and shopping facilities.

After completion, the project will benefit nearly 300 million people in Shandong and its neighboring regions, including Hebei and Henan provinces, as well as the cities of Beijing and Tianjin.

The entertainment project is expected to receive 5.5 million visitors a year, generating 1 billion yuan in cultural and tourism revenue.

Official said that the project will start construction in 2021 and be put into operation in 2022.
